Cascadia State Park Oregon

Firstly let me share that I celebrated my birthday at Cascadia State Park yesterday with my family!

I wanted a peaceful place with a lush forest as well as a beautiful river for having a great day enjoying nature, and I’m glad I picked this perfect destination!

I’m sure you will love it too!

What to see and do

With the good excuse for my birthday celebration as well as our ongoing challenge of visiting Oregon State Parks, we traveled to enjoy the serene and gorgeous Cascadia State Park.

Located at the confluence of Soda Creek and the crystal clear South Santiam River, this park allows visitors to experience nature through its hiking trails, lush forest, and water features such as river swimming holes, creek, and even a waterfall!

Although this place can be visited year-round, it’s particularly busy during the Summer seasons, primarily for all the activities you can enjoy in the river. We especially loved the great swimming holes and excellent currents for floating!

Also, if you love hiking and explore, this park includes about 2.6 miles of walking trails. One of the main paths that start close to the parking area will lead you to the beautiful Soda Creek Falls (3/4 miles).

On the other hand, the Soda Springs trail will let you experience a little bit of the rich history of this place and eventually reach the river access.

This State Park is also an excellent destination for picnicking, including several picnic tables under beautiful green canopies provided by majestic trees.

Additionally, for those looking to extend their stay, two dozen of first-come-first-served campsites are available.
