About Our Big Little Adventures

Seven years ago, we moved from Córdoba, Argentina, to the USA, and we’re currently living in Portland, Oregon.

Before moving in 2013, I studied a lot about our future home, the state, and the surrounding areas. The first impression after seeing the map was how green everything was!

I also read an article talking about the concept of being a tourist in your city. And I regretted not doing this in my lovely hometown in Argentina.

So after arriving in Portland, I started to create lists of places we wanted to visit or activities we wanted to do with my kids, and I’ve been doing this for several years. It becomes a new fun family tradition, and it makes us feel that we are always on vacation.

We started traveling locally since then and we are not planning to stop!

The blog

Besides my love for Nature, Outdoor Activities, and visiting new destinations with my kids, my other passion is Photography.

I remember researching a lot about the places to visit, taking photos, and then sharing those trips with my friends. They found that information very useful since it usually takes time to review different sources to know more about a destination, if it’s kid-friendly, what features or amenities you are going to find, etc.

And later, the idea of creating some journal started, and I thought, why not a blog? In that way, I can share these places and all that information with more people since I love seeing more families in the trails and parks.

Finally, in December 2019, I started this blog for sharing Our Big Little Adventures, hoping to inspire you and help you to find ideas, and make new wonderful memories with your loved ones.

And Why Our Big Little Adventures as a name? Because no matter how far you travel, how great or not the destination is, every Little moment you share with your loved ones doing something together, it’s a Big memory, an Adventure of a lifetime!

We love finding local adventures, so most destinations are situated no more than one or two hours (and sometimes less than that!) from the Portland area. For a day full of fun, without traveling far!
