What to see and do
Undoubtedly, Dodge Park, located at the confluence of the Sandy and Bull Run rivers, is a great family-friendly destination (including your furry friend!).
This park, which features a day-use area with easy river access, is extremely popular due to its proximity to Portland.
To enumerate some, picnicking, swimming, tubing, boating, and other water activities are enjoyed at this park.
For us, the trouble-free river access (just park and go to the water) and having some shaded and sandy areas made this place an instant new favorite destination. Additionally, the facilities and river areas are clean and well maintained.
Specifically, for those looking for an excellent picnic destination, this is the park for you! The picnicking area is massive, with forested sites that include tables and grills.
In sum, this park along the river provides fantastic outdoor activities opportunities and is surrounded by nature; it’s a perfect place to relax and have a memorable day as a family. Additionally, the kids will love the playground (closed nowadays but for future adventures).
