We visited this fun park after exploring the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge.

In general, I try to include some playground after our hikes or cultural visits. Although my kids enjoy those activities, playgrounds are always the cherry of the cake for a day full of adventures.

Particularly for that day, by the time we were finishing our hike in the refuge, I found out that Stella Olsen Memorial Park was just 8 minutes away. Since we were so close, we decided to go there and have our picnic in the park.

Luckily for us, it was a sunny and cool day, ideal for having our lunch outside and not in the car, our usual location for picnics on cold or rainy days.

Because my kids were so thrilled to see this new playground, they finished their lunches in record times and then they played there for a long time.

And speaking about the playground, there are options for all ages. Slides, swings, climbing areas, and music instruments. Particularly my son loved the instruments, especially the piano where he played “A Song of Joy”, so we had a little concert there. As a mom, I loved that I could see my kids from all points and those huge umbrellas structures in the playground. They work as shades for sunny days or shelter in case of light rain.

In summary, we had a great time in this park with my kids. It’s really beautiful and it has everything you need for enjoying it for hours. Eventually, we are going to come back for walking in the trails, that day we were a little bit tired from our morning hike.

In case you want to explore more parks in Sherwood, we loved this one too: Pioneer City Park.

I hope you can visit this place and have an amazing day with your loved ones!
